Introduction
Reading is described as a complicated process as it covers interrelated physical and cognitive attributes. Individuals try to improve the reading skill acquired in primary school with many aspects of it in secondary school. It is enhanced with literature classes in secondary education to continue for a lifetime. Alongside world knowledge, academic knowledge and problem-solving skills are reinforced with reading. In this sense, it is of important in affecting individuals’ thinking skills. Reading education, which concerns the individual-social aspect of reading, is provided with a curriculum, textbooks, instructional processes and methods, and other printed and electronic materials, etc.

- Skimming: Skimming is sometimes referred to as gist reading where you’re trying to glance over the material to grasp the main idea. The way you do this is to read the first and last paragraph and check for any dark headings. Skimming may help in order to know what the text is about at its most basic level. You might typically do this with a magazine or newspaper and would help you mentally and quickly shortlist those articles which you might consider for a deeper read.
- Scanning: Scanning involves getting your eyes to quickly scuttle across sentences and is used to get just a simple piece of information. You’ll be searching for specific words or phrases that will give you more information and answer questions you may have. Interestingly, research has concluded that reading off a computer screen actually inhibits the pathways to effective scanning, and thus, reading the paper is far more conducive to speedy comprehension of texts.

- Intensive: Intensive reading involves learners reading in detail with specific learning aims and tasks. intensive reading can be compared with extensive reading, which involves learners reading texts for enjoyment and to develop general reading skills. The learners read a short text and put events from it into chronological order.
- Extensive: Extensive reading involves learners reading texts for enjoyment and to develop general reading skills. It can be compared with intensive reading, which means reading in detail with specific learning aims and tasks. For example; A teacher reads a short story with learners but does not set them any tasks except to read and listen.
CONCLUSION
The reading skill enables the student to access different resources to meet new information, events, situations, and experiences (Özbay, 2007: 4) we learn skills through practice. Reading isn’t any different; reading well takes lots of practice, so if it’s not going really well in the beginning, don’t get discouraged. And don’t give up!
